We are a one stop shop that offers veterinary, boarding, doggie daycamp, doggie daycare, cat daycare, and grooming. Our staff prides itself on our clean facility and amazing customer service! The Tempe Lake Veterinary Clinic & Pet Resort is growing fast! We are hiring an individual who will serve as an advocate to ensure an optimal experience in all aspects of client and patient care. We are currently looking for a full time kennel attendant who will be a part of our team for many years to come. To experience needed, we can train you! The schedule will include daytime and evening shifts, weekends and holidays. Working weekends and holidays are required. We are closed five major holidays a year. Our kennel attendants are required to work holidays including the days before and after the holiday if needed. Holidays worked are paid at 1.5 times your regular rate of pay, if you work a shift that day, are: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years day. We are open Monday through Sunday 7am to 7pm to the public (excluding major holidays). Must have flexible availability, and at times be willing to stay past your scheduled shift to ensure your work is finished before leaving when needed. You must be able to work solo as well as in a team environment, managing multiple tasks without direct supervision. Must be willing to cross train and help in other areas of the clinic when needed. The position we are offering is for full time, which is 30-40 hours per week and would require a fluctuating schedule. Must be willing to cross train and help in other areas of the building when needed. Experience is a plus but not required. Our clinic offers veterinary services to dogs and cats, grooming, boarding, doggie day camp and day care. We use Avimark, therefore Avimark experience is a plus. The Tempe Lake Veterinary Clinic is a non-smoking facility. You must have reliable transportation to ensure proper work attendance. ***Pay Dependent on Experience*** Full-Time employee benefits are available after 90 days: health, dental and vision benefits, scrubs allowance, paid time off, Annual preventative health plans for up to 2 pets, and boarding discounts (*when available). Performance Expectations: - Provides compassionate care to patients. - Can conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks. - Receives animals to be admitted, is responsible for their proper identification and for recording their respective locations. - Releases animals to their owners as directed; ensures that every animal released is clean and properly groomed prior to their release, with a report card completed regarding their stay. Has the ability to communicate with owners and make them feel comfortable with leaving their pet(s) in our care when clients have questions. - Can follow a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing all cages, runs, play yards, indoor runs and related areas; changes litter boxes and food/water bowls. - Can feed each animal as directed by the attending doctor or as the owner has requested and records appetites. - Understands the importance of prioritizing tasks and keeps oneself busy and productive during work shifts. - Can safely administer medications and supplements to patients that require them, and maintains records of medications given while in boarding. Can give injections to boarding patients as needed. - Can maintain laundry for the kennel, grooming and hospital. - Maintains the grounds of the property including waste disposal, light maintenance of landscape upkeep and general building maintenance. Ensures to walk the entire property at the end of each shift to ensure it is clean of debris and is presentable for our clients. - Can give baths and brush out patients when requested. - Can collect urine and fecal specimens when necessary. - Can give hospital and kennel tours while highlighting features that differentiate us from other kennels and hospitals in our area. - Can recognize and report any unusual condition or abnormal behavior in a timely manner. - Can assist doctors and technicians with the administration of medications or with patient restraint. - Cleans equipment and facilities using chemicals and supplies provided; understands the importance of safety of use of chemicals in our facility - Maintains the cleanliness of the kennel each day and ensures an odor free and sanitary facility for our patients, clients, and employees. - Understands and carries out the weekly and monthly chore list to maintain the kennel cleanliness, the equipment, and overall appearance of the kennel. - Understands and carries out oral and written directions. - Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees. - Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.
