We are looking for an experienced Handyman/Plumber to efficiently undertake a variety of handyman and plumbing tasks. A successful handyman/plumber must have a thorough knowledge of household systems, household repairs, general maintenance & painting. We are looking for patient individuals with a practical mind and manual dexterity, able to work efficiently with great attention to detail. Responsibilities Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems Installation inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, replacement, repair and maintenance of building fixtures and fittings General plumbing including washers, taps, unblocking toilets, unblocking stacks, installing new sinks, urinal, showers, tubs and toilets, pipework (copper or PVC) Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring) Install and maintain water supply systems Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks) Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc. Repair domestic appliances (e.g. washing machines, dishwashers and garbage disposals) and fixtures (e.g. sinks) etc. Ability to be a jack of all for residential repairs and maintenance. Skills Proven experience as a handyman/plumber Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential setting Working knowledge of household systems Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.) Good communication and interpersonal skills Friendly with a great deal of patience Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces This is an hourly position, 30-40 hours per week, pay will be based on experience. Weekends and on call for emergencies.
