Description
We are rehoming our 2 year old female plott hound mix, Pepper. We have had her since she was a puppy and she has been an incredible dog for us. Unfortunately we have to find her a better fit for a home because we are having a child later in the year and we think that it may be too stressful for her to have a kid around the house. During COVID she became more protective of her home and people, as she is very sensitive and could sense that things were a bit different and visitors weren't as frequent. Once she is introduced to new people and dogs she is loyal and wonderful, she just takes a bit of introduction, so she would need someone willing to be understanding with her.
She is the PERFECT companion for someone who does not have kids around the house, wants the ability to train her (she is really smart and picks up on things), and would appreciate her protectiveness. She gets along amazingly with our smaller maltipoo puppy, so if she is introduced in the right way to another dog she can be a great friend to them. Ideally a smaller male dog.
If you are someone who is good at training dogs and wants a dog who will be devoted to you, she is a really great pup. We are very sad to not have her in the family anymore and this was not an easy decision. We just don't think she will be patient with little kids and we also are afraid she will become territorial of the baby if people want to pick it up. She has not bitten any kids or anything, we are just afraid that she may accidentally do that if she's messed around with.
We are not asking for a rehoming fee but it is important to us that she goes to someone who is a good fit, so we would like to meet and learn a bit about you.
