Join culinary instructor, food writer, and owner of Wanderlust Tours, Shawnie Kelley as she offers an unintimidating approach to making this Provençal classic of stewed vegetables over rice. Utilizing the summer bounty, you’ll learn to build a flavorful stovetop version of ratatouille that looks beautiful on the plate and tastes like summer. It is accompanied by a second recipe of tri-colored greens tossed with a bright lemon vinaigrette. And yes, there is such thing as quick bread in France – 45 minutes from start to finish. You’ll impress as you pull out a piping hot rustic loaf from the oven. This non-yeasted bread is studded with cheese, meat, olives, and herbs, but can be made vegetarian, sweet, or savory. Class discussion includes food traditions in Provence, variations on the recipes, and wine pairing suggestions.
