Students are introduced to the VEX IQ robotics platform by playing robot soccer.
The purpose of the summer camp is to provide students a basic introduction to the VEX IQ robotics platform by playing robot soccer. Students learn how to build a basic drivetrain with an object manipulator; how to use VEXcode to program their robot to use sensors to play the game; understand the engineering design process; program their robot to complete a task autonomously. Students need to bring their own lunch.
Agenda:
9:00 am to 10:00 am - Introduction to VEX IQ, building a standard drive base
10:00 am to 11:00 am - Introduction to object manipulators, building a claw/lift/etc
11:00 am to 11:30 am - Lunch (Bring your own lunch)
11:30 am to 12:30 pm - Build completion for robot soccer game
12:30 pm to 1:00 pm - Robot soccer practice matches
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm - Introduction to programming using VEXcode/sensors
2:00 pm to 3:00 pm - Programming for robot soccer
