From 3 – 5pm, the 4rd Annual Mande Independence Day Parade will proceed down the Lakefront from Jackson Street to Coffee Street leading to the City of Mandeville’s Light Up the Lake Festival. Join the Mande Milkshakers, our class of 2022 prospective members, our Mini Mande Dance campers, the Lagniappe Ladies from Lafayette, and much more as we stroll down Lakeshore Drive in a patriotic parade for the whole family!. The Parade will feature patriotic throws from the assorted groups and of course, the Mandes will be serving up Shakes! In addition to providing one heck of a parade to commemorate this historical day and celebrate the amazing Mandeville community, registrations from parade participants will go towards furthering the Mande Milkshakers mission of promoting women empowerment in St. Tammany Parish. The Mande Milkshakers is the Northshore’s first marching group and women’s organization. With over 80 members, the ladies work year round promoting the pillars of Fun, Friendship, Fitness, and Philanthropy through community and charity events. While many of the group’s appearances are to support other charitable organizations, the Mande Milkshakers organize and host several events of their own in order to promote causes in St. Tammany near and dear to their heart. Since 2016, the Mande Milkshakers supported local organizations at over 100 events, served over 1000 hours of volunteer service, and raised over $80,000 for various charities through organizational philanthropic efforts. This big hearted group of ladies believes the excitement of performing is second only to the joys of giving. A woman's organization based on the four pillars of fun, fitness, friendship, and philanthropy. In an effort to fulfill that mission the group organizes and entertains at local events benefiting both the community and local charities.
