Learn about your options for dispute resolutions. Sometimes the best way to solve a problem is to prevent it in the first place. Through this training you will learn strategies to prevent problems from arising in the first place through documentation and letter writing. Also covered are the resolution processes included in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act as well as Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Missouri Parents Act (MPACT) is a non-profit that serves children with disabilities, their families, and communities throughout the state. MPACT has served as Missouri’s federally-funded Parent Training and Information Center since 1988.  MPACT also works in collaboration with, and receives funding from, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).MPACT is committed to excellence as we provide FREE services and assistance to parents, families, and youth. Our mission is to empower families to advocate for themselves so that children with special educational needs can reach their full potential in education and life - through support, training, and education. MPACT staff and volunteers are located throughout Missouri and work with public and private agencies, parent groups, professional organizations and advocacy groups to achieve that goal.
