YONKERS, NY — The polls have closed and the early vote counts are in. Here are the unofficial results in the 2021 Yonkers primary elections. District 16 Westchester County Legislator race: Incumbent Chistopher A. Johnson defeated Dwanita Crosby in the race for District 16 Westchester County Legislator. District 17 Westchester County Legislator race: Incumbent Jose Alvarado defeated London Reyes and Virginia M. Perez in the race for District 17 County Legislator. Alvarado was endorsed by the Yonkers Democratic City Committee, State Senator Shelley Mayer and Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano. Yonkers City Council President race: Incumbent Mike Khader was defeated by Lakisha Collins-Bellamy (Democrat/Working Families Party) for Yonkers City Council President. Collins-Bellamy declared victory in a statement just before midnight Tuesday. Just weeks before election day, the Yonkers Democratic Committee pulled its endorsement of current City Council President Mike Khader citing recent questions raised by one of his staff members about the fair and equal treatment of women employees. The organization's full statement can be read here. Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano followed suite and endorsed Khader's main challenger, Lakisha Collins-Bellamy. Yonkers Council District 2: Incumbent Corazon Pineda defeated challengers Annette Yarber, Jose F. Roman and Cristal A. Suazo in the unofficial results of the Democratic race for the Yonkers City Council seat representing District 2. Yonkers Council District 4: Incumbent John Rubbo defeated challenger Carlos M. Burgos Jr. in the unofficial results of the race for the Yonkers City Council seat for District 4. Yonkers Council District 6: Tim Hodges defeated Stella A. Schwuchow in the unofficial results of the race for the Yonkers City Council seat for District 6. Westchester County Clerk race: Incumbent Timothy Idoni appears to have fended off a challenge by Yonkers City Councilperson Shanae Williams in the race for Westchester County Clerk with a number of absentee ballots still outstanding.. Idoni had the backing of Westchester County Executive George Latimer.
