Franklin Park Concerts Start Sunday With Everly Brothers Tribute

FRANKLIN, WI— Don & Phil, an Everly Brothers Show tribute band, and local band Close Enuf will be the first concert set for this season's Franklin Park Concerts in Lions Legend Park, according to the organizer's Facebook post. The concert will start at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the bandshell at Lions Legend Park, the post said. The two bands will be alternating to provide an afternoon of music from the '50s-'70s, according to the Facebook post. Attendants should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets as picnic tables will not be available this year, the post said. The concert series will come every other Sunday starting June 27, the post said. Arts and crafts for children will also be available at the concert series, the post said. After this weekend there will be four more Sundays of music at Lions Legend Park this summer, the Facebook event said. Future concerts will include polka, a tribute to the British invasion, bluegrass, country music and the blues, according to the Facebook post. The concerts will be held at the bandshell in Lions Legend Park located at 8030 Legend Drive in Franklin, according to the concert series' website. Here's a sneak peek of all the bands planning to come to the concert series this summer: Vern and The Originals will play polka and waltzes on July 11, organizers said in a Facebook post. British Invasion '64 will play a tribute to British bands of the 1960s on July 25, organizers said in a Facebook post. KR Bluegrass will play bluegrass and country music on August 8, organizers said in a Facebook post. AARPers Bizzare will play classic rock, country and blues on August 22, organizers said in a Facebook post.
