BROCKTON, MA — A Plymouth County grand jury indicted Michael Blanche, 34, of Brockton on one count each of Leaving the Scene of a Crash Causing Death and Operating a Motor Vehicle After Suspension on Friday.
Back in November, police say Blanche struck Marie Rose Bien-Aimé, 72, while she was crossing Pleasant Street in Brockton and drove away.
Bien-Aimé was found unresponsive by first responders and later died in a local hospital. According to her obituary, she was a loving mother of 11.
Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz says Blanche was able to be identified as the driver after State Police and investigators found the vehicle he was seen driving hidden under a tarp next to his girlfriend's house two days later.
Blanche was held without bail and is expected to be arraigned on the charges in Brockton Superior Court.
