GARDEN CITY PARK, NY — A man was killed Tuesday night after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Garden City Park, Nassau County police said. According to police, a 47-year-old man was crossing Jericho Turnpike in front of the The Point shopping center, at 2349 Jericho Turnpike, at 10:24 p.m. He was struck by a 60-year-old man driving a 2018 Jeep. The man suffered sever head trauma and was rushed to a nearby ambulance. He was pronounced dead by doctors at 11 p.m. Police have not yet publicly identified the man. Police say the driver remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
