UNIONDALE, NY — Michael Bublé, who was supposed to play Nassau Coliseum last March, has finally scheduled a new date to perform at the venue. In what is likely to be the first concert since the Coliseum closed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Bublé is now going to be performing in August.
"An Evening With Michael Bublé" is scheduled for Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. Bublé was originally scheduled to perform on March 24, 2020, but the concert (along with many other shows) was canceled by the coronavirus pandemic.
Tickets that were purchased for the original 2020 show will be honored at the August performance. Tickets are still available through TicketMaster.
"I am so looking forward to getting back on stage. I've missed my fans and my touring family. We can all look forward to a great night out," Bublé said in a release.
Many planned shows and events at the Coliseum were canceled last year due to the virus. In June, it was announced that the venue was closing indefinitely, which eventually led to a new tenant taking over the lease with the county to allow it to reopen.
Since then, events at the Coliseum have been sparse. It was being used mainly as a vaccination site by Nassau County. Today, it's once again hosting Islanders games as the team fights its way to the top in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
