Get Ready for Raise Some Dough Bingo This summer, Alabama Credit Union’s interns are joining the fight against hunger by raising both funds and awareness for Secret Meals For Hungry Children by hosting Raise Some Dough Bingo at Heat Pizza Bar, located in downtown Tuscaloosa. 100 percent of all proceeds from this event will go directly towards purchasing food packs for Tuscaloosa children who face the issue of going hungry over the weekend. The event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, and participants will have the opportunity to compete for many prizes for the duration of the event while enjoying Heat’s tasty pizza and drinks. In 2008, Secret Meals for Hungry Children started feeding only 18 schoolchildren in Tuscaloosa. Today, the Secret Meals program serves over 1,500 children in Tuscaloosa City and County by quietly slipping packages of food into their backpacks every Friday. Secret Meals For Hungry Children (SM) is an organization sponsored by Alabama Credit Union (ACU) that recognizes and strives to address the issue of child hunger taking place in local elementary schools. Secret Meals provides vitamin-fortified and nutritional meals that are discretely slipped into the backpacks of many hungry children, as donations allow.
