Corporate Dance Band Forming Now

Description
My Story Hi...my name is Felipe. I have been learning to play the guitar since I was 12 years old (71 years old now). I have played maybe about a thousand gigs playing Top 40 R&R, R&B, blues and some jazz. I have been described by my best friend of 40 years(also a guitar player) to be an intermediate level player on the cusp of becoming an expert level player. The Opportunity I have a connection though my employer who has been doing business with Apple Inc. for many years. My employer also does business with many other Silicon Valley notables such as Facebook, Google, Tesla and Genentech to name a few. All of these companies hold corporate events that often hire live music as entertainment for their events. My goal for this band is to be the "go to band" for corporate events for these companies. According to several online searches the average pay for musicians is around $50 per hour. Top musicians make as much as $75 per hour. Members of this band will get at least the average pay per hour. Repetoire and Band Members This dance band will cover songs by Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Cool and the Gang, Michael Jackson Average White Band, Tower of Power, Steely Dan and some jazz tunes as openers for each gig. My vision is that about 75% to 80% will be material from those already mentioned. I also recognize there were many great songs of the 70's, 80's and 90's by other artists. I am selecting songs from those eras including some hip-hop. Every member of the band will have input into what the band plays. I want to make sure we all get to play our favorite songs. Initially, I will be hiring the rhythm section to kick things off. I will select a lead guitar player, bass player and drummer. If none of the rhythm section can sing lead, I will be hiring a lead singer. Each of those individuals will receive a stipend of $25 for each rehearsal. Rehearsals will be 2 to 3 hours sessions twice a week. Hopefully, we can be ready for the rest of the band in 2 to 3 months. Theses are the positions I am looking to fill: Lead Guitar - For this position, you will need to be an excellent level player like Larry Carlton or Robben Ford. I really don't expect this person to be at their level but must be better than me. Rhythm Guitar & background vocals (I have mostly sung in unison not harmony) Keys - Bass - Drums - Percussion - Congero Horn Section - Sax, Trumpet and Trombone Vocals - Preference will be given to instrumentalists that can also sing. However, if you are a monster at your instrument and do not sing, you will surely be considered. I invite lead and background vocalists to apply as well. Sound Man - Like the musicians and singers in the band, the sound man should have his own equipment such as a mixing board and speakers. The sound man will also get the average pay of $50 per hour. As you can see, this could be a 10 - 12 piece band or more. I am in the process of securing a rehearsal space. This could be costly. However if every member of the band could pitch in for the space, it could be doable. This will only work if every member is committed to this project. If interested, please respond to this posting with a little info about you and your experience. If you have video clips of your playing, send it over along with your name and contact info. Since we won't be playing in bars and night clubs you could be under 21 years old. However you should be at least 18 years old or older to be considered. I will be holding auditions soon after I get responses. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks...Felipe
