ANNAPOLIS, MD — Live music and theatrical performances have returned to downtown Annapolis. From backroom jazz concerts to exciting musicals, the city has plenty of shows scheduled this summer. Patch partners with several local organizations to bring you their latest news. This guest contribution comes from the Annapolis Arts District. Here's what Executive Director Erik Evans wrote about summertime performances: "For centuries[,] Annapolis has been a hub for the arts. Its performing arts venues are one of the many reasons that people choose to live [in] and visit Annapolis, Maryland. While the past year has been difficult for the organizations and businesses that own these venues, most have survived and are planning on how to best entertain you this summer. With COVID restrictions ending[,] most of the live music concerts and the performing arts venues in Annapolis have reopened or will reopen within a few weeks. "This is good news for local musicians, performers, and entertainers that have been out of work. It is also good for the public that is ready to get out of their homes and enjoy the diverse arts and culture that Annapolis has to offer," says Erik Evans, Executive Director of several downtown Annapolis business organizations. Here is the status of many of the arts and entertainment venues in Annapolis.
