Purpose of the Position:
Tends to and operates the machines that are used in production of various food products such as Extructors, Color Mixer, Open Cutter, Steam Box, Scale, Shred Machine, Paddle Mixer, GEA Chopper, Ball Cutter, Small Stephan, K-Mirin Tank, Drum Cooker, Cooling Machine, Thin Cutting and Bundling Machine, Stick Cutter, Packing Machine (Old River/Tiromat), Jet Printer, Pasteurizer, Spiral Freezer, Box Taper Machine.
Job Duties:
1. Check the production schedule to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
2. Set machine as indicated by the process information sheet for each product
3. Activate the machine and observe machine operation to detect defects or machine malfunction. Stop machine and report malfunctions to Production Supervisor when warranted
4. Inspect machine for cleanliness and maintenance needs and correct or report as needed
5. Assist sanitation staff by prepping and pre-rinsing machines and parts at the end of the shift and putting machines back together at the start of the shift as needed for efficiencies
6. Report hazardous conditions (unsafe equipment) and unsafe acts promptly to Production Supervisor
7. Follow company GMP, HACCP and safety regulations
8. Work closely with other departments including Quality, Shipping & Receiving, Support Services and Sanitation
9. Keep work area clean and free from slipping/tripping hazards
10. Assist in the production line as needed
Qualifications:
1. Must be able to read, write and speak Basic English for the purpose of training, quality and safety requirements of the position.
2. Must have reliable transportation in order to be at work on schedule.
3. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and hearing test.
4. High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
5. Experience with manufacturing or food processing helpful.
