Description
Press release from the City of Ames:
June 22, 2021
Work to replace the traffic signal at South Duff Avenue and South Fifth Street will begin today, June 22. The project will also include construction of a new pedestrian ramp at the southwest corner of this intersection.
The majority of the work will not disrupt traffic on either South Fifth Street or South Duff Avenue. When lane closures on South Duff Avenue are necessary for the project, they will occur from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays to avoid typical high-volume traffic times.
The City of Ames has contracted with Voltmer Inc. of Decorah to complete this project, which is expected to take one month.
All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity and exercise caution when traveling through the area.
