McKee Going Door-To-Door To Promote Vaccination In Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET, RI — Gov. Dan McKee, Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt, health officials, and other state and local leaders are going door-to-door in Woonsocket Wednesday morning to encourage residents to get the COVID-19 vaccine, reported WPRI. The visits come as a response to Woonsocket having the lowest percentage of vaccinated residents in Rhode Island, with only 46.5% partially vaccinated and 41% fully vaccinated. The city has also sustained high rates of COVID-19-related deaths and hospitalizations since the start of the pandemic. The Rhode Island Department of Health is targeting residents at Morin Heights and Veteran's Memorial housing complexes Wednesday, hosting vaccine clinics from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at both locations. The clinics do not require health insurance or an ID and will offer both Pfizer and Johnston & Johnston COVID-19 vaccines.
