About WNC Pet Care: WNC Pet Care is a professional pet sitting and dog walking company based in Asheville, NC that also serves the surrounding areas (Weaverville, Candler, Swannanoa, and Fletcher). Our staff is Pet First Aid & CPR certified. We offer high quality services and provide clients with real-time detailed electronic visit reports after each service is completed. A phone app is available for our client's convenience in order for them to be in contact with their assigned pet sitters on the go. Job Responsibilities: - Walking dogs on a leash (max 2 dogs at a time) in the pet owner's neighborhood for the amount of time scheduled: increments of 30, 45, or 60 minutes. The dog walker will need to make sure the owner's pets are walked in a safe manner - Visiting pets at the owner's house. Drop-in home visits require cleaning of the yard or litter box, feeding, nail trims, playtime with pets, etc. May include other tasks such as watering plants, bringing in the mail, or taking out garbage/recycling - Making sure all pets are present and healthy - Assess and report suspected illnesses or injuries in common pets species (cats, dogs, reptiles, rodents, etc.) - Communicating with owners through an app that provides details about each visit Requirements: - Have open availability. Employees should be available 7 days a week at flexible times of the day for a total of 10-40h/week depending on demand. Scheduling changes weekly - is posted on Sunday but may have updates on a daily basis. Availability during holidays and weekends. - Have a smart phone with an unlimited plan. Employees will need to use an app to start a timer that runs for each visit that also has a GPS tracker for walks. - Be comfortable working with animals of all kinds. WNC Pet Care provides services to everything from household pets to farm animals. Employees need to be able to work with all sizes, breeds, and temperaments of dogs. Expect to get dirty. - Friendly and professional customer service skills. The employee will need to send detailed visit reports after each visit along with pictures and with a short message to the owner. - Timeliness and dependability. Employees work scheduled shifts as assigned by management. Visits cannot be missed or cut short. Employees need to be available to be reached by management or pet owner at any time during working hours. - Patience and positivity! Shifts can be long and some animals can be difficult to work with but employees are always expected to treat each pet with love and respect. - Have your own reliable transportation. Be prepared to drive anywhere within a 20 mile radius of Asheville. Qualifications: - Minimum 1 year experience working in animal care (vet tech, dog walker, pet trainer, pet groomer) - Customer Service : minimum 2 years - Able to understand animal’s body language - Able to lift 50 pounds - Having no physical constraints (this job requires a lot of walking, running, pulling, etc) Salary depends on experience. 2 weeks training at minimum wage and then $12-15/h Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: From $12.00 per hour *If you'd like to apply please respond with your RESUME and tell us a little bit about yourself!*
