ORLAND PARK, IL — The hoot at Hooters in Orland Park Tuesday night wasn't what police were initially told it was, according to Orland Park Commander Kenneth J. Rosinski. Around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Orland Park police were called to Hooters, 15300 S. LaGrange Road, after reports that a 30-person fight broke out inside the restaurant. Rosinski told Patch that the call had Tinley Park and Orland Hills officers coming to the scene as backup. When officers arrived at Hooters, Rosinski said they found out a physical altercation did not actually happen, and an argument over a customer taking too long to pay their bill is what prompted the emergency call. Rosinski said someone from Hooters called the police after a woman began to get loud while waiting for someone to finish paying their bill. The commander told Patch the woman was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. Some Orland Park residents took to social media after seeing a large number of police cars outside the restaurant. One person said they counted around 30 police cars, some blocking the entrance and exit of the property. Rosinski said once police learned of what really happened in the restaurant, the backup officers from other towns left, since the situation was under control.
