Description

Hi, I'm Mrs. Britt and I have a small home daycare in Westminster with 2 available spots. Someone asked me recently what my philosophy is as a childcare provider. My answer is simple: Love. More than anything. I want the babes I take care of to be completely loved. Yes, safety and education come in as a close second and third but love is what will shape these children's lives forever. I love these children and treat them as if they are my own and they become part of the family. I love my job and I enjoy reading to and teaching my kiddos every day, it is so much fun for me to watch them grow and see the wheels turning as they learn new things about our crazy world. I am a big fan of music, crafts, and arts. I have a degree in the Arts in Therapy and Health, and I am really interested in how the arts can teach and heal a person. I have had extensive training and experience in child care and I also have many fantastic references upon request. I offer an enriching experience in my small child care that provides children the chance to interact with other children their same age, experience new environments, but still have the comforts of a home setting. I always keep our group small enough to ensure that each child receives a great amount of one-on-one attention from me everyday. I am very safety conscious and first aid/CPR certified. My husband is my co-worker, Mr. Andy, who has a background of EMS work and is a cpr instructor. Daily routine: I strive to keep all my kiddos I care for active everyday. We generally have some free play to get the morning going, then we have lesson time and activities. Every week we have a letter, number, color, shape, and theme we learn about. We read lots of books, practice words and ABCs (English and Spanish), and practice many other age appropriate skills through both free play and guided activities. We love to do crafts, have painting days, play music, dance, and do yoga. We also love to go outside, take walks, go to the park, and although outings are postponed for this year, hopefully next year we will resume our field trips (like the Zoo, the butterfly pavilion, splash pads, and museums). We have lunch in the afternoon followed by story time and nap time. The children I have now love to dance and so we usually end the day with a good old fashion dance party. Mr. Andy and I are both fully vaccinated and while life just isn't the same with the pandemic, we still are having a fantastic time in our little daycare bubble while keeping communication open with all our families ensuring that everyone is social distancing and being as safe and healthy as possible. We are excited to meet new families to welcome into our daycare family!
