A small construction company is hiring a full-time, full charge Expeditor to inventory, maintain and assist in managing two workshops. The responsible person will fill material requests for local as well as remote projects. Additionally, this position drives to various suppliers and storehouses to retrieve parts, tools and other various job-related materials, and delivers them to the requested locations in an often time-critical manner. Applicants must have the ability to understand technical specifications of material and equipment and be proficient in the use and maintenance of power tools. Upon hire, expeditor will be referred to the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) for dispatch as a pre-apprentice if interested. This position provides the opportunity for growth into a journeyman plumber with training through the JATC. The following skills and abilities are REQUIRED: - Prior experience as an expeditor in the construction and/or plumbing industry - Working knowledge of the Anchorage area - A valid driver’s license and clean driving record - The ability to lift, move and carry 50+ pounds Please reply to this ad with your resume and a brief letter of introduction.
