Placerville based fire prevention company seeking a Small Tools Mechanic ASAP! This is a great opportunity to join a well-established company offering stability, steady hours, and pay increases! This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity! Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday, day shift DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ensures all chainsaws and small tools are in good, safe working order 2. Works closely with the Small Tools Manager to ensure a safe and organized small tools department 3. Oversees the inventory for the small tools and reports all items needing to be ordered to complete maintenance jobs 4. Communicates with all foremen on any issues they are having or seeing in the field with the small tools 5. Ensuring all small tools being distributed to certified employees and verifying certifications for each employee 6. Maintaining a schedule for making field visits to work on small tools to reduce time loss on job site 7. Helps prepare orders for field equipment and small tool for delivery 8. Works closely with all of small tool shop to upfit new trucks with all appropriate safety gear, tools and fire equipment 9. Assists with new projects to enhance the process and procedures of the small tools department 10. Cleaning saws prior to being sent out to the field 11. Ensure working environment is clean, organized and well maintained at all times 12. Assist various employees in other departments with work not listed above if requested by supervisor MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must have a valid California driver’s license. 2. Must pass a pre-employment substance screening exam. 3. Must pass a company administered basic driving test. 4. Must have the ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures 5. Must be willing and able to work in all outdoor weather conditions all year round. 6. Must be willing and able to respond to emails and phone calls at reasonable times 7. Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays when requested. 8.
