Maintenance Mechanic Position Summary Provides industrial maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of a team based, meat processing /packaging facility located in Philadelphia, PA. The Maintenance Mechanic safely operates and performs a variety of maintenance activities including corrective maintenance (CM) and preventative maintenance (PM) for various production equipment including but not limited to Scales, Dumpers, Mixers, Ovens, Chillers, Massagers, Injectors, Packaging Machines, Conveyors, Palletizers, and Pallet Wrappers. This position will be responsible for proactively troubleshooting, diagnosing, and executing all preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and plant support equipment in a high volume facility. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Demonstrated ability to work in a successful team based environment. Repair, modification and improvement of facility and production equipment with proper and precision techniques. Provide corrective actions to all levels of equipment/system failures troubleshooting techniques. Safely perform work, including adherence to company policies such as lock-out tag-out (LOTO), hot work permit and confined space entry. Work cooperatively in a maintenance culture that is focused on continuous improvement (Lean), positive morale and exceptional levels of customer service. Mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills relating to gear reducers, chain/belt drives, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, heat exchangers, pumps, piping systems and vacuum pumps. Education / Experience: High School diploma or GED required. Degree from a two or four year college or university preferred; or minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent of education and experience. Prefer understanding of industrial electrical/electronics systems including VFDs (variable frequency drives), motor controls, 3 phase AC power, Analog/Digital Electronics. Allen-Bradley system training is preferred Requirements: Strong electrical and mechanical experience. Basic understanding of OSHA regulations. Ability to complete mathematical calculations. Demonstrated comprehension and troubleshooting skills relating to computer/PLC controlled equipment, motor control systems, servo motors, pumping systems, 3 phase industrial electrical systems and mechanical systems. Demonstrated critical thinking and Root Cause problem solving skills. Mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills relating to gear reducers, chain/belt drives, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, heat exchangers, pumps, piping systems and vacuum pumps. Ability to draw/use schematics and blueprints for repairs, troubleshooting and improving systems and processes. Ability to fabricate and weld various types of metals is a plus. Proficient in the use of hand tools. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
