Once a Paws a Time Kickoff BBQ Orientation/Tour/Training BBQ Hot Dogs, Chips, and Soda/Water Once a Paws a Time...Children earned prizes and enhanced their reading skills while reading to the animals at the Humane Society of Weld County. The furry friends received the love and attention they craved and provided the children with hours of fun, entertainment, and affection. And the children and the pets...lived happily ever after. This program was developed with two goals in mind: Enhance the lives of the cats who are awaiting adoption in the shelter and to help children (ages 6-14) retain and increase their reading skills. ​
