We are a well known Miami Beach hotel group and are currently seeking Maintenance Engineers to join our team. Maintenance Engineers ensure high quality of work for all tasks and keep the equipment, building and grounds in perfect condition. They assist in maximizing efficiency, productivity, and cost effectiveness of the Engineering Department. Excellent opportunity for those with general maintenance skills. Hotel experience is not mandatory! Essential Duties: To be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sections of the Engineering Department and or any other Department of the hotel as assigned. To be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel. To ensure that the Place of Work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times. To monitor operating supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage. To handle guest and employee inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with the respective persons. To ensure that workmanship for all assigned task are of the high quality and that these tasks are completed in the assigned time frame. To maintain and repair all mechanical and plumbing fixtures and fittings. To inspect, clean, maintain and repair all installations pertaining to fire fighting, sprinkler and other fire prevention systems. To inspect, clean, maintain and repair hot and cold water supply systems, including classifiers and heat exchangers. To inspect, clean, maintain and repair guestrooms as needed in preparation for a guest arrival, during their stay and following their departure. To ensure timely completion of maintenance requests paying particular attention to guest related jobs and front of the house jobs. Job Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent interpersonal and problem resolutions skills. Excellent communication and organization skills Walking and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to carry 60 lbs. Ability to use various power and hand tools very efficiently and actively. Follow oral or written instructions if it is needed. Good practical and technical skills An understanding of engineering drawings and principles The ability to work quickly and under pressure Fluency in job related English both verbal and non-verbal. The ability to manage a varied workload An awareness of health and safety legislation.
