Want to go baby back, go for it. Smoked chicken nuggets? That's your call. All turn-ins must fit in a standard turn-in box (we will supply) and be prepared for 5 judges to be able to get a proper taste.5 judges will assign scores of 0 to 100 in each of the following categories: taste, appearance, creativity. Scores of all 5 judges will be averaged. Best score on each turn-in = 100. Best possible score toward the Grand Championship = 400. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st place in all four categories (chicken, pork ribs, beef steak, side) and for Grand Champion. There will be a separate award for "Most New England" for the one turn-in across all categories that the judges believe best represent and even elevates New England BBQ. Judges will assign 0 - 100 for each turn-in. Points for Most New England will not count toward Grand Champion. Payouts will be based on 80% of the total collected for the competition. This competition is about fun, camaraderie, and learning new tricks. We recognize that it's 100% subjective. That's the price of judging creativity. The judges' scores are final. If that even feels like an issue, best to buy the Tailgate Pass.
