Learn how to bead using Native American techniques. Native American beadwork is a beautiful art form that has been commonly traded by tribes since ancient times. Join us for an evening of learning how to bead. Each class will focus on a different type of work and/or bead stitch. The supplies you will need, which can be found at a craft store such as Michaels or JoAnn, are as follows: -- Pellon (fabric section) -- Size D Thread (beading section) -- Four colors of Size 11 beads There will also be a limited number of small kits of supplies available. Feel free to arrive at your own pace and you may also leave prior to 8:30 if needed. **About your Instructor: LaRissa Claymore, 26 and an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, started selling matching necklaces and earrings when she began beading at the age of 10. She's continued to bead over the years and has expanded her work to include: ribbon skirts, applique, and beadwork and quillwork for regalia. She takes pride in seeing her work on the pow wow floor knowing that she's worked hard in completing her pieces which are infused with good energy.
