A clear and succinct mission statement focuses on what a company does for its customers and ensures the entire organization is focused on its objectives. It serves as the concise declaration about your company’s business strategy. While a vision statement provides a broad view of how your company is going to leave an impact on customers and the greater community. A position statement is simple, memorable and tailored to its targeted market. It provides an unmistakable and easy to understand picture of your brand/product/company that differentiates it from your competitors. It is the brand promise. This two-part workshop will assist you in understanding the difference of these various statements and provide you with the opportunity to write one be it for your company/organization, yourself or your side-hustle/entrepreneurial endeavor. WORKSHOP DATES: July 8, 2021 & July 15, 2021 (students must attend both sessions) ABOUT INSTRUCTOR Sara Fiedelholtz has 30-years experience as an editor, reporter and writer. She has taught a variety of courses on grammar, feature writing, freelance writing and best writing practices for both graduate and undergraduate students at such schools as: New York University, Columbia College Chicago, Iona College, Northwestern University: School of Journalism and the College of Art & Design Miami. Fiedelholtz developed several freelance writing courses for Mediabistro. She serves as a business writing coach and presents writing/communication workshops at both large and small businesses/organizations. Fiedelholtz has been published in a wide variety of publications including: Vogue, The Daily News, New York Magazine, Chicago Magazine, Self magazine, Crain’s New York Business, WWD, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune and The Miami Herald/Indulge magazine. From 2018 – 2021 three years, Fiedelholtz served as the editor-in-chief of Fort Wayne magazine.
