Dr. Michael Morwood, of Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, will speak about advances in robotic surgery for hip and knee replacements. In a return to its popular, in person Lunch & Learn series, York Hospital will present "Robotic Surgery for Joint Replacements" with Dr. Michael Morwood on Friday, July 16, 2021. The program takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Goodall Memorial Library, 952 Main Street, Sanford. Dr. Michael Morwood, an orthopaedic surgeon at York Hospital and Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, will discuss common causes for hip and knee pain and the treatment options and advances in robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery that can help you get back to doing what you love. ABOUT THE PRESENTER Dr. Morwood is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic trauma and joint reconstruction/replacement. He earned his BA in physics from the University of Vermont, Burlington, and MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Morwood completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Duke University, Durham, NC, a fellowship at the Florida Orthopaedic Trauma Institute, Tampa, FL, and an Adult Reconstruction fellowship at the Aaron Hofmann Arthritis Institute in Salt Lake City, UT. His extensive training has made him an expert in robotic total knee replacement, muscle-sparing total knee replacement and anterior total hip replacement.
