I know y'all remember them old school block parties we had with the streets blocked off and everybody outside?! They're back! #OutWestII In 2019, we had the great idea to take it back to our childhood and throw an old-school neighborhood block party aimed at promoting fellowship, building community, and providing a safe space for our City's youth to play and enjoy their neighborhoods. Thus, Out West Block Party was born. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we weren't able to keep the momentum going in 2020, but we are so happy and excited to announce that we are officially bringing back the Out West Block Party for Summer 2021! And just like in 2019, there will be plenty of kid-friendly games, as well as free food, bookbag giveaways, face painting, water balloons and so much more, and we really want the kids to come out and be able to enjoy it! We are asking that all adults bring a kid with them, and/or make a $2 suggested donation that will benefit For The Kids Media & Arts, a nonprofit organization that provides digital media & arts education and mentorship to Chicago's youth. You are welcome and encouraged to donate any of the following but not limited to, school supplies, food for the grill, games/toys, hygiene products, community resources, etc. Security will be present. Masks are encouraged. Hand sanitizer stations will be available. This is a BYOB BYOW event. For all questions, please email [email protected]
