Have you missed hearing beautiful orchestra music in Fresno? We've missed playing it for you! This is the concert you've been waiting for!
FOOSA, the Fresno Summer Academy Orchestra, is BACK after a year's hiatus. Thomas Loewenheim leads a stellar string orchestra in a lush, Romantic program full of passionate works from the early 20th century. The Piano Sextet by Sergei Lyapunov is like listening to a large symphonic work by Tchaikovsky or Rachmaninoff, even though the orchestral forces are capacity-limited to 20 string players and piano. Dr. Loewenheim describes the third movement of this work "to-die-for beautiful."
