The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic is seeking an individual who will serve as an advocate to ensure an optimal and clean experience in all aspects of client and patient care. We are currently looking for custodians that are looking for a long term position and to be a part of our team for many years to come. As a Custodian with TSVC, the work schedule may or may not include daytime and evening shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime. Must have flexible availability, and be willing to stay past your scheduled shift to ensure your work is finished before leaving. Must be able to work solo as well as collaboratively, managing multiple tasks while demonstrating a high level of initiative without direct supervision. The position we are offering is for full time hours and would require a fluctuating schedule. Must be willing to cross train and help in other areas of the hospital when needed. Willing to consider cross training within the hospital in reception or veterinary care for the right individual after 1 year of employment. Personal Requirements: - Minimum of 18 years old. - Genuinely enjoys working with or around animals and is able to be around them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain. - Can stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis or around upset clients. - Is well-spoken and approaches his/her job duties in a mature and positive nature. - Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members. - Physical Effort: Work requires lifting. Able to walk or stand for extended periods of time; frequently works in a bent position. - Working conditions: May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases. Performance Expectations: - Can conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks. - Has the ability to communicate with owners and make them feel comfortable with leaving their pet(s) in our care when clients have questions. - Can follow a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing all cages, runs, wards and related areas; changing litter boxes and food/water bowls. - Understands the importance of prioritizing tasks and keeps oneself busy and productive during work shifts. - Can maintain laundry for the kennel, grooming and hospital. - Maintains the grounds of the property including waste disposal, light maintenance of landscape upkeep and general building maintenance. Ensures to walk the entire property at the end of each shift to ensure it is clean of debris and is presentable for our clients. - Cleans equipment and facilities using chemicals and supplies provided; understands the importance of safety of use of chemicals in our facility - Maintains the cleanliness of the hospital each day and ensures an odor free and sanitary facility for our patients, clients, and employees. - Understands and carries out the weekly and monthly chore list to maintain the hospital cleanliness, the equipment, and overall appearance of the hospital. - Understands and carries out oral and written directions. - Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees. - Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors. The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic is a non-smoking facility. We do not allow break times for smoke breaks. Smoking is prohibited while on the clock. You must be willing to work long shifts(often 8 or 12) with no outdoor break times. Must have reliable transportation to ensure proper work attendance. Pay Dependent On Experience - Average starting at $15-$16 per hour.
