This course focuses on helping educators understand and support cognitive development. Nevada Registry Approved –12 hours CKA:  Human Growth and Development Instructor:  Brianna Cambra Description: This course focuses on helping educators understand and support cognitive development and learning through four areas: facilitating exploration and concept development, building meaningful curriculum, promoting imitation, symbolic representation and play, and supporting reasoning and problem solving skills.    **This course is designed for learners who have experience teaching in the infant/toddler classroom. Participants MUST ATTEND ALL FOUR SESSIONS in order to receive certificate.  The dates for the training are: 7/13, 7/15, 7/20, 7/22. **This training can be taken to meet the Child Development/Guidance & Discipline training requirement.  This platform is used for In-Person Northern Nevada child care classes and training. If you are seeking web-based classes, please visit our statewide platform here: Web-Based Training's Childcare is not provided during class times. Due to safety and liability reasons, please do not bring your children with you to class. In-person traingins may be cancelled if there are fewer than five participants enrolled. If a class is cancelled, you will be notified via email and/or telephone. Additionally, it is Nevada Registry policy that participants who arrive 15 minutes late cannot receive Nevada Registry credit for the class.  For questions about classes or registration please call The Children's Cabinet at 775-856-0100.
