Learn to create fused glass jewelry in this 2-part workshop. FUSED GLASS JEWELRY with LaVerne Thorpe WHEN: 10/06 (1:30-4pm) and 10/13 (1-1:30) SKILL LEVEL: Art, Craft. All levels, beginner to advanced AGE: Adult 18+ TYPE OF EVENT: Each project is a separate workshop SUPPLIES: All supplies included FEE: $50/week INSTRUCTOR: LaVerne Thorpe Minimum 3, Maximum 10 people  FUSED GLASS CLASSES Fused glass is an art form to make many beautiful products from glass.  Sheets of compatible glass are cut into a design using a glass cutter or a saw.  Designs can be enhanced with paint, glass noodles, frit, or other shapes of glass such as flowers, leaves, hearts, and a host of other products.  The finished design is fired in a kiln to temperatures up to 1500 degrees. After the design is fired it can be slumped in a mold or draped over a form to create a shape like a bowl or a vase. (I will fire and slump the projects at my studio).  There are a vast array of products, techniques and processes that are used to create fused glass art.  In the art classes I am offering you will learn the basics of glass fusing and create a product each week that you will be proud of. Each workshop is on a Wednesday from 1:30-4 and if finishing touches are needed, you will also come the following Wednesday from 1-1:30.  All supplies are included.
