Swimmer From McLean Headed To 2021 Olympics

MCLEAN, VA — A swimming star that found success in Northern Virginia has punched his ticket for the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. Andrew Seliskar, whose hometown is McLean, made the U.S. Olympic team by finishing fourth in the 200 freestyle at Olympic trials. Seliskar, 24, will compete in the 4x200 freestyle relay at the Olympics. Swimming events are expected to begin on July 24. As reported by WJLA, Seliskar got his start as a McLean Marlin in the Northern Virginia Swimming League, then at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. He graduated from University of California, Berkeley in 2019. "It all started back swimming summer league in McLean for the McLean Marlins," Seliskar told WJLA. "They were my first team.
