MERIDEN, CT - A New Britain resident is $30,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery ticket in Meriden earlier this week, according to the Connecticut Lottery. On June 21, Jesus Tavarez, of New Britain, purchased a 30X Cash 8th Edition ticket from the Shell Gas Station in Meriden and won $30,000.
