UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Six Flags America temporarily shut down one of its newest rides after a video showed the structure shaking, WJLA reported Monday. The ride, called HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity, is a pendulum that swings while riders spin on its base.
"The safety sensors on one of our attractions stopped the ride mid-cycle," marketing and public relations manager Joseph Pudlick told 7News in an email. "All guests were able to safely exit the ride and continued with their visit. The safety of our guests is always our highest priority and the ride will be closed for a thorough inspection before re-opening."
Instagram user @big216teezy shared a video Sunday that appeared to show one of the support columns shaking.
The ride normally reaches speeds of 70 mph and heights of 150 feet. The attraction opened in early May, WJLA noted.
