All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. REPORTS ASSAULT & BATTERY ON POLICE, 2021-06170010, 400 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 12:50 a.m. on June 17, police were dispatched to the report of a disorderly male inside a restaurant. Upon arrival, the responding officer made contact with the intoxicated suspect who was yelling at patrons and employees. The officer directed the suspect to leave and attempted to issue him a banning notice at the request of the property manager but the suspect refused to comply and continued to act disorderly. As the officer attempted to place the suspect under arrest for public intoxication, he resisted and shoved and hit the officer before fleeing the scene on foot. A foot pursuit was initiated, however, the suspect was not immediately located. Officers located the suspect inside his vehicle nearby and directed him to stop and exit the vehicle. The suspect then reversed out of his parking spot and attempted to drive away. Officers were able to stop him from exiting and he was taken into custody. Seth Hauter, 28, of Reston, VA, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on Law Enforcement, Drunk in Public, Obstruction of Justice and Driving Under the Influence. ROBBERY, 2021-06200048, 2300 block of 2nd Street S. At approximately 3:39 a.m. on June 20, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect vehicle, a gold Honda Odyssey, pulled up to the business and two male suspects exited and entered the business. Suspect One grabbed merchandise and approached the counter, with Suspect Two following behind. Suspect One then brandished a handgun and demanded the employee open the registers. The suspects then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Suspect One is described as a Black male with a slim build, approximately 5'6" tall, wearing a black hat, black mask, blue gloves, black pants, a gray vest and a gray hoodie. Suspect Two is described as a Black male, approximately 5'6" tall, wearing a black hat, black mask, blue gloves, and a dark blue hoodie. The investigation is ongoing. ROBBERY, 2021-06200036, 2300 block of Richmond Highway. At approximately 2:28 a.m. on June 20, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 1:17 a.m., the male suspect pulled into the gas station and began to pump gas. While waiting for his gas to pump, the suspect approached the refrigerators outside the service station and began taking bottled drinks and putting them into his car without paying. An employee exited the service station and confronted the suspect. The suspect charged at the employee, who ran back inside the service center, and then continued to take items from the refrigerator. After pumping his gas, he attempted to enter the service center but was denied by the employee. The suspect then chased the employee around the outside of the business, during which an unknown male approached, proceeded to assist the suspect by placing more bottled drinks from the refrigerator into his vehicle before leaving the scene on foot. The suspect then reentered his vehicle and fled the scene. The employee sustained minor injuries during the chase and was treated by medics on scene. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 25 – 35 years old, wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing. ROBBERY, 2021-06190117, 2300 block of 11th Street N. At approximately 10:00 a.m. on June 19, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that a verbal dispute ensued between the known individuals over a food delivery order. During the dispute, the suspect threw the food at the victim before grabbing a trash can and throwing it in her direction. The suspect then took the victim's phone but she was able to regain it and the suspect left the residence. The suspect then returned to the residence, kicked in the door and physically assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene. Warrants for Assault & Battery and Robbery were obtained for the suspect. BURGLARY (late), 2021-06190084, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 12:30 p.m. on June 19, police were dispatched to the late report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined that an employee opened the business to discover merchandise either missing or rummaged through. The investigation determined that at approximately 6:20 a.m., the unknown male suspect approached the secured business and was able to remove merchandise through the gate. The suspect fled the scene in a waiting vehicle. The suspect is described as a heavyset Black male, approximately 5'6" tall and bald, wearing a light gray/white hooded shirt and light gray/white capris. The suspect vehicle is described as a red Hyundai Elantra. The investigation is ongoing. BURGLARY, 2021-06210027, 2400 block of Shirlington Road. At approximately 4:13 a.m., police were dispatched to the report of an audible alarm. Upon arrival, it was determined that the unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the business, smashed a glass display case and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the registers. No merchandise was reported stolen. Officers cleared the business and surrounding areas with negative results. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing. BURGLARY (late), 2021-06190144, 6600 block of 31st Street N. At approximately 12:46 p.m. on June 19, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that the unknown suspect(s) gained entry to an under construction residence and stole building tools, electronics, and personal items. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing. BURGLARY, 2021-06200030, 2500 block of S. Adams Street. At approximately 1:58 a.m. on June 20, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Arriving officers cleared the residence and canvased the surrounding area with negative results. The investigation determined that the victim was inside the residence when she heard what appeared to be the front door opening and someone walking inside. No items were reported stolen or damaged.
