Colorado Launches Coronavirus Vaccination Phone Campaign

Colorado's public health agency launched a phone campaign Monday to reach residents who haven't received their COVID-19 vaccine. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is calling people ages 18 and older to offer information about the vaccine, answer questions and help with appointment scheduling. "I'm excited that Coloradans will have a new opportunity to learn more about COVID-19 vaccines to help them make informed decisions about their health," said Jill Hunsaker Ryan, executive director of the state public health agency. "It's normal to have questions about COVID-19 vaccines. These outgoing calls will provide Coloradans with accurate information and help them find a free vaccination appointment in their neighborhood if they choose to be protected from COVID-19." COVAXCO, the Colorado call center that has been answering inbound calls about COVID-19 vaccinations, will be conducting the campaign in multiple languages. Text and email notifications will also be sent to people ages 18 to 29 who are overdue for their second vaccine dose, officials said. The agency previously sent notifications to people ages 30 and older. The messages, which will be sent in English and Spanish, will include information on how to find a vaccine provider to schedule a second vaccination.
