West Blue Ridge Drive near Old Bleachery Road, Greenville SC
Description
Yesterday evening about 8.30 p.m. I was running the Swamp Rabbit Trail. I was heading *away from Greenville* and was about a mile from the Swamp Rabbit Cafe, near the intersection of West Blue Ridge and Old Bleachery Road, about 15 paces from mile marker 30.5 on the SRT when, looking to the *right* (again, heading towards Travelers Rest) there was a brown dog in the woods, looking very shy and frightened. Weight and size was difficult to estimate but I judged at the time perhaps 30-40 pounds. I could not see whether it was male or female. The coat was a medium brown, short coat. He almost looked like a young deer, but it was clearly a dog.
He turned and ran back deeper into the woods, sadly. His tail was tucked in between his legs.
I'm sending this out in case anybody is missing a dog. I'm sorry I did not get a chance to take a photo.
I also contacted the people who are looking for a missing dog in the area (they have posted on Nextdoor as well) and did help them find the location so that they could return to see if that dog is still there. But in case it is **somebody else's** missing dog I'm posting it here as well.
