NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt. ARRESTS DRUG POSSESSION Riely W. Land, 25, of the 4000 block of Pamella Lane, Northbrook, is accused of possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested at 10:26 p.m. June 15 in the 4000 block of Pamella Lane. Baseball Gloves Stolen From Dick's; Missing Car Found: Blotter INCIDENTS IDENTITY THEFT An Elm Avenue resident reported at 6:58 p.m. June 10 they received a text message from a number claiming to be the Illinois Secretary of State's office. The text message stated that the complainant needed to update their information. Complainant reported that they supplied all of their information to the link then realized that this was a scam.A Raintree Lane resident called police at 8:21 p.m. June 16 to report that they received a notification from their employer's human resources department that their information was used to file for unemployment benefits that they did not apply for.ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE A resident in the 1700 block of Fieldwood Drive called police at 8 a.m. June 9 to report their neighbor's landscaping service damaged their vehicle when an employee was unloading a riding lawnmower from the company trailer. DISTURBANCE An employee at Neiman-Marcus, 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported at 3:54 p.m. June 12 seven people were protesting the sale of fur products by the store. After several requests by store officials, the people peacefully left the area. RETAIL THEFT An employee at Neiman-Marcus, 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, called police at 1:40 p.m. June 12 to report four males entered the store and immediately began grabbing handbags from a display area. They then departed the store without paying for the items. The males entered a waiting vehicle and left the area. NEIGHBOR PROBLEM A resident in the 2400 block of Oak Avenue reported at 3:22 p.m. June 14 their neighbor's landscaping company caused damage to their fence and that the neighbor was not willing to discuss the matter. VANDALISM A resident in the 3100 block of Toulon Drive called police on June 15 to report someone scratched graffiti into a wooden handrail of a common staircase. CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY An employee at the Historical Society, 1700 block of Walters Avenue, reported at 2:15 p.m. June 15 someone broke the handle to a decorative water pump that is located in the garden area. CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT An officer on routine patrol found new graffiti at 8:11 p.m. June 15 on a gazebo at Village Green Park, 1800 block of Walters Avenue. THREATENING TELEPHONE CALL A representative of Walgreens, 1000 block of Waukegan, reported at 9:39 p.m. June 16 an employee took a telephone call from a customer that was upset about being overcharged for a purchased item. SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES A Western Avenue resident called police at 10:08 June 17 to report they received a text message from what they believed was the Secretary of State's office. The complainant clicked on the link in the text and provided their information, then learned a short time later that this was a scam. THEFT A resident of the 900 block of Meadow Road reported at 6:48 p.m. June 10 someone removed their video doorbell from the front of their residence. Stay Patched In!
