Challenge yourself to earn raffle tickets and prizes as you read. The more time you spend reading, the more chances you have to win prizes! "Children who don't read during summer vacation fall behind when school starts in the fall," said Assistant Library Director Jenn Hosking. "This decline in their reading abilities increases as they get older. The library wants to help parents maintain their children's skills by motivating kids to read every day." Summer reading programs do just that. And because they're available for all ages, they make reading a family affair.
