Description

From the City of St. Louis: June 22, 2021 Tuesday, June 22 at 3:00 pm CT, the nation's mayors will gather virtually with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Chief Medical Advisor to the President of the United States, to discuss the urgent work cities are doing in conjunction with President Biden's Month of Action to increase COVID-19 vaccination rates. The virtual event will be held by the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM), which recently appointed Mayor Jones to its membership. Mayor Jones will outline for participants her proposal to invest $80 million in direct relief from initial American Rescue Plan Act funds, including $6.75 million for public health infrastructure like mobile vaccine clinics, as well as other priorities that support the health and wellbeing of St. Louisans still suffering from the negative health and economic outcomes of the COVID-19 crisis. The mayor has urged the St. Louis Board of Aldermen to move quickly to approve the plan to deliver critically needed vaccination infrastructure and urgent, direct relief to the people of St. Louis in the face of a looming eviction crisis.
