Former Hooters Site Under Construction In Dublin

DUBLIN, CA — Construction is underway to build a drive-thru Starbucks and retail space at the site of the former Dublin Hooters restaurant. Plans for renovating the building at the .8-acre 7944 Dublin Blvd. site were approved by the planning commission in September. Plans call for a 5,640-square-foot single-story building with room for two tenants, 50 parking spaces and an outdoor seating area. The Starbucks drive-thru will wrap around the back of the retail tenant space, plans show. The drive-thru line will be able to accommodate eight cars, back-to-back. The Dublin Hooters location closed after 16 years in March 2020. More: Hooters Closes In Dublin Starbucks also recently closed its nearby location at 7197 Village Parkway. Last summer, the coffee giant considered closing up to 400 locations through 2021 as it looked to focus on quick pickup options such as drive-thrus, and curbside and mobile-only pickup stores, as USA Today reported.
