Description
DUBLIN, CA — An 18-year-old woman climbed outside the fenced barricade on the I-580 overpass at Fallon Road Monday and emergency responders feared she may jump or fall onto I-580 freeway below.
As a Crisis Intervention Team scrambled to help, the California Highway Patrol, Dublin Police, Alameda County Sheriff's Office and Pleasanton Police all kept the area clear, including two lanes of the interstate.
Capt. Nate Schmidt of the Dublin Police Department told Patch, "After about 45 minutes, the subject agreed to come off the overpass and she was later transported to a local hospital for medical treatment."
Schmidt thanked all of the police agencies, as well as the Alameda County Fire Department, for helping to ensure that she received the help she needed.
The initial call for help was received around 12:45 p.m.
