Description

Hi, I found this rock, broken up into chunks, by the undeveloped area full of large smooth rounded boulders, near my house. I brought it home bcuz I looked like gold (to me lol). Broke it up some more and panned a bit some of it will not break up at all because it seems like metal. Now I took it to where they buy gold and the man stood it looked to him like jasper. He looked at me like I was crazy for bringing that sandy feeling dirt clod into his jewelry store Haha. But he refused my suggestion of going near the window as to get better light (sunlight-the best), and also refused my suggestion of getting a jeweler's loupe. He handed my rock back And with the quizical eyes of everyone in the shop on my back, I took my "jasper" and went home. My metal detector tells me it's metal. The rocks that won't crush look like gold. Probably some other metals in there too because it looks too me like it's maybe a sedimentary thing the way it is layered, and that everything heavy came to rest there together, OR, that perhaps it's a hydrothermal, carlin type thing, and maybe not"jasper" but "JASPEROID"? IM stumped. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Email or text my phone. Thank you so much
