Hello, I am looking for more drumming students to study with me online. Face-to-face is also available in Portland, OR. All ages and skill levels are welcome, and my students can play any genre using what I am teaching. We can dive into odd-meters and polyrhythms, or simply learn how to play by ear, and do all of the things that helped me become a better drummer and a desired player. I've been writing and performing music on the drumset for over 25 years. I've worked with and helped jumpstart several amazing bands. I have been known as the quintessential rock and metal drummer, and I'm well rounded with an extensive education. I studied contemporary music and studio musicianship at private academy, The Musician's Institute; classical percussion at IU; and jazz and composition at PSU school of music. I have taken classes and private lessons with some of the most authoritative educators in the drumming world. But before all of that, I used to rewind the cassettes over and over trying to hear every little nuance of what my favorite drummers played so I could mimic them. Whether you need to develop and strengthen foundational skills, or want insight in how to play something specific, I will personally write a curriculum for you pulling from decades of materials and experience. $50/hr or sliding scale if needed. I am happy to offer sessions weekly or bi-weekly, or on an on-call basis. All should definitely think about weekly lessons.
