Calling anyone who already plays tango music OR who wants to learn!
I'd like to connect with more folks who love tango. Maybe we could collaborate somehow. When it's safe for dances to happen again I want to play for them. I'd also love to find students. I could coach you a bit on whatever instrument you play, or teach you more in depth on the piano. If you happen to start playing bandoneon I can give you a few pointers as well.
A bit about my qualifications: I've been dancing tango since 2008, and playing tango music since 2011. I play piano and bandoneon. I've co-formed and played in two different tango groups. I've studied with some of the best tango musicians/instructors out of Buenos Aires. I've arranged countless tangos for various sizes of ensemble, usually arrangements for dancing. I've composed several tango pieces, including a 27-minute suite for orchestra which was my master's thesis. I can play "a la parrilla" -- that is, "on the grill," meaning I can improvise and jam tunes in an informal setting without an arrangement.
I have a little fantasy of forming a duo or trio of multi-instrumentalists who are able to play traditional and nuevo tango as well as tango fusion and electronic music, touring milongas someday.
Here's my YouTube channel where you can see my thesis and several other tango performances:

Hope to hear from you!
