Description

The Sanitation Associate at FHI keeps work site clean and free of debris. Maintains a clean, sanitary warehouse and office in a manner that is consistent with the FHI's standards of quality, safety, and productivity. Understands sanitation and pallet sorting best practices within a warehouse facility, working alone or in teams with minimal supervision. Works with direct contact of outside delivery personnel.Maintains a clean working environment for assigned area within the Warehouse Facility. Clears debris and dunnage from work area, maintains cleanliness of breakrooms, office spaces and rest rooms.Operates industrial equipment:Bailer to remove bails from unit and load in a central designated area.Pallet Jacks and Stand-up Forklifts to relocate materials.Pulls pallets and clean/scrubs product bays on a rotating basis.Clean up any spills or breakages of product.Notifies operations management regarding conditions on dock and within the warehouse facility of any concerns regarding safety, overall organization of the work area and provides suggestions for improvement.This position is designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is requiredRequirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferredAt least 1 year of warehousing, material-handling (using hand/power tools and hand truck) equipment or sanitation experience preferred.High-energy individual with a strong work ethicSelf-motivated with ability to work with limited supervision.Maintain FHI's high company and safety standards for a safe work environment.Flexible work schedule due to changing operational needs.Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required.Ability to work independently.Working conditionsWarehouse environment with extreme heat and cold temperatures.Physical requirementsAbility to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workday.Handle cases weighing from 25 to 75 pounds..
